‘Lovers and Executioners’ at SCR

The great thing about a good story is that it never gets too old to enjoy. While most students find it difficult to believe they would attend a French play written in the 17th century, a modern twist on an old classic may make students more willing to do so.
In fact, one such opportunity exists at the local South Coast Repertory, where ‘Lovers and Executioners’ is playing from Jan. 4 to 25 on the Julianne Argyros Stage. Written by John Strand and directed by Bill Rauch, this comedy is based on ‘La Femme Juge Et Partie’ (The Wife, Judge and Accuser) written by Antoine Jacob de Montfleury in 1664.
