Anteater Men and Women Post Double Victories

The UC Irvine Men’s and Women’s Swim team defeated Wyoming in a dual meet on Jan. 10 at the Anteater Aquatics Complex. The men’s team finished with a score of 131-100 after losing the previous day to the Utah Utes.
The women’s team, who were victorious over Utah 142-81 the day before, had a final score of 141-100, winning 10 out of 11 events, including first place (1:49.34) in the 200-yard medley relay.
Freshman Ashley DePaul broke her own school record of 56.81 in the 100 butterfly with a time of 56.65.
‘I always try to do the best that I possibly can, especially in the [butterfly], which is my best event,’ DePaul said.
DePaul also holds the record for the 200 butterfly (2:05.64).
Lara Bjargardottir, a sophomore from Reykjavik, Iceland, finished in first place in all three of her events
