Web site: www.zotpoker.com
Purpose: Established in Oct. 2003, the purpose of the poker club is to provide a forum for friendly and competitive poker games and a place for discussion.
Meetings: The first meeting of the poker club will take place on April 7 at 7:30 p.m. in SSTR 103
Upcoming Events: The club will be hosting the first annual no limit hold’em poker tournament on May 29 in Monarch Bay A and B. The first hand will be dealt at 11a.m., and space is limited to 200 players. The tournament is free to the UCI community and $2,000 is sponsored by pokerroom.com.
Poker Club president fourth-year ICS major Eric Falcao is anticipating a large turnout for the tournament.
‘The game is so popular that I believe it really will bring people together. I’m expecting 300 people to show up on a Saturday for our tournament.’
Falcao also commented on the legalities of a poker tournament at UCI, saying that since the tournament is free, it is open to people of all ages, not just people who are 21 or over.
‘That’s why the tournament is free, because you’re not actually gambling. Since the money comes from an outside source, it’s not actually gambling, so you can be any age.’
The first-place prize for the tournament will be $1,000.

Who can join?
According to Falcao, anyone who is interested in learning more about the game and improving is welcome to join.
‘The most important thing is to build a community of players who take the game seriously
