These days it seems as if the music industry is just an open field running rampant with young bulls who’ve got record deals. Given that some bands start their own labels in order to release their own material, record labels are as abundant as bullshit in a bullpen, with the label being of about the same quality.
Kung Fu Records is founder and owner Joe Escalante’s contribution to the music industry as an attempt to seek talent, sign bands and then help the bands grow. Between his law degree and experience as bassist for The Vandals, Escalante is in an unique position to create an indie label unlike any of the others.
His tactics are similar to those employed in his hobby of bullfighting
