Looking at the world of media around us, it’s easy to see that originality is scarce to almost a frightening degree. Even those whom we could always count on are unfortunately letting us down.
Have you noticed that the newest albums of great older bands such as The Beastie Boys and No Doubt are either half-ass imitations of their former selves or just simply another version of the current, trendy sound?
A perfect example of this phenomenon of sameness is a new release from Green Day entitled ‘Green Day Presents American Idiot.’
While listening to the album’s first two tracks, ‘American Idiot’ and ‘Jesus of Suburbia,’ are the only way I could differentiate their sound from every other pop rock band out there was still the occasional ringing of lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong’s characteristic vocals
