Baseball Wins First Series of the Season Against Cal
Berkeley, Calif. – Feb. 6 – The UC Irvine Baseball team defeated the California Golden Bears, 7-3 in its last game of the series at Evans Diamond. The Anteaters won the series, 2-1. The Golden Bears now fall to a 1-3 record overall. UCI will play its next series at home starting on friday, Feb. 11 against Washington.
Men’s Golf Places 8th in Tourney
Tucson, Ariz. – Feb. 1 – The UC Irvine Men’s Golf team finished 8th against sixteen other teams in the two-day PING-Arizona Tournament.
W. H2O Polo Comes up Short Against Hartwick
La Jolla, Calif. – Feb. 5 – The UC Irvine Women’s Water Polo Team was defeated against the Hawks 5-4 in their first match in the UCSD Invitational. The Anteaters took an early lead, but were unable to pull out a win later in the game even after a 4-3 rally in the fourth.
Their next matchup is against Cal Baptist and Cal State Bakersfield on the final day of competition, Feb. 6.
