M. Basketball Brought Down by Utah State
Logan, Utah – Feb. 26 – The UC Irvine Men’s Basketball team (13-12, 6-10 Big West) was run over by the Aggies 87-49 in a Big West Conference game held at the Spectrum Feb. 26.
UCI junior swingman Jeff Gloger now holds the record in career steals with 163.

Baseball Gives Up Winning Run to Clemson
Clemson, S.C. – Feb. 26 – The UC Irvine Baseball team lost to Clemson 5-4 in the second game of a series of three at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. The Anteaters gave up the winning run at the bottom of the ninth to allow the Tiger’s a slim win. UCI baseball falls 6-4 overall.

Sung Places Fourth at World Indoor Championships
Irvine, Calif. – Feb. 11 – The UC Irvine Women’s Crews’ senior Rachel Sung placed 4th in the Collegiate Lightweight Division at the World Indoor Rowing Championships and 10th overall.
It was held at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center in Boston.

Sailing Wins Charleston Spring Intersectional
Charleston, S.C. – Feb. 21 – The UC Irvine Sailing team won the Charleston Spring Intersectional held at the College of Charleston. William Pochereva and Frank Tybor won the A Division, while Mike Brown and Whitney Loufek won the B Division. The team next heads to Treasure Island Mar. 5th – 6th for the Jeremy McIntyre team race

W. Water Polo Defeats UCSD and UCD in Invite
Santa Barbara, Calif. – Feb. 26 – The UC Irvine Women’s Water Polo team beat UC San Diego 7-5 at the Daktronics Gaucho Invitational.
The next day the anteaters defeated UC Davis by a bigger margin 7-3 in the 13th place match of the invitational.

M. Tennis Shutout by No. 8 Georgia
Athens, Ga. – Feb. 26 – The UC Irvine Men’s Tennis team was overpowered by No. 8 Georgia at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex leaving the match 7-0. Senior Brian Morton, who played in the No. 1 singles match was the closest to a win against the Bulldogs’ Antonio Ruiz, but lost 6-4, 7-5.
