Judicial Branch Threatened

Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, and other conservative congressmen have recently been creating controversy concerning the nature of the judiciary branch.
In the wake of the Terry Schiavo case, King and others feel the need to restrict the ability of the courts to make and enforce their own decisions.
The Terry Schiavo case was a dark time in which a woman was fast approaching the end of her life. Medical options had been exhausted and her husband decided it was best to move on.
But the darkest hour came from the media circus behind the tragedy. Pro-life groups were quick to respond to the call of arms and immediately began protesting and hypocritically threatening the lives of opponents, demanding the reinsertion of Schiavo’s feeding tube.
In an amazing show of bipartisanship, the Senate decided unanimously to support the ailing Schiavo. The House also voted in support of reopening the case in court, though with a slightly steeper 4
