Farewell, London … Hello, Orange County

As I stroll down the Strand toward Trafalgar Square under the warm sun, I am shocked by the dramatic change in the weather. After a long and cold winter, London is sporting spring temperatures that rival that of Southern California.
While beautiful, this change is bittersweet as it symbolizes the end of my time abroad.
After a year away from the comfort zone of Southern California, I have grown and changed in ways I never anticipated and can only begin to describe.
The most striking change has been my increased independence. I considered myself to be relatively independent before I arrived. I’m sure many of you would argue that you are independent when you are at UC Irvine
