ICS Students Design ‘XAR’ Car

Once upon a time, there was a blue fiberglass car that was computer-programmed to drive all by itself. With a limited budget this car, which can travel 20 to 30 miles per hour, used all available resources.
The braking system and steering were controlled by motors that were designed to open and close elevator doors and control power windows, respectively.
Two-dollar computer chips handled the functionality of the vehicle so that it could brake, accelerate, steer, shift gears and turn. Equipped with a mind of its own, this car employed a light detecting and ranging device that kept it from running into objects and a global positioning system module that directed its every move.
But the thing that made it truly unique were what the words ‘EXtreme Anteater Racers’ on the side of the car showed
