The thing about school is that on an average day, you’re stuck here. At some point, you will have a frustrating block of time, whether it is 10 minutes to get lunch and get to class or two hours to wait for an exam to start.
Read on for where to get a quick snack, take a nap or spot some wildlife on your way to class.
Best place to actually concentrate: Science Library study rooms
Sure, the fluorescent lights can induce headaches, but when it comes to focusing on schoolwork, an empty room behind the stacks of triple-oversized books just works. Private study rooms (which can also accommodate small groups when inviting over strangers to work on a project during the first week seems inappropriate) are available for up to three hours with an activated student ID and may be reserved up to six days in advance by calling (949) 824-3681.
Best place to relax: Aldrich Park
Believe it or not, some people manage to get through entire quarters without entering Aldrich Park. During the week, sitting under a tree with a book can bring back some much-needed sanity. Just mind the bugs. And with empty lawns perfect for Frisbee or croquet, it’s almost worth heading to campus on a weekend. Almost.
