For the life of me, I can not figure out why California is pandering to these illegal aliens. Other States are passing laws to get rid of them like Oklahoma, Arizona, Mississippi, Georgia, South Carolina, Missouri, Utah, Rhode Island and a few other States. Why can't California see how the illegal aiens are destroying this Country. California is bankrupted, in a large part due to the illegal aliens. Why can't you see that?

Illegal aliens have made America the dumping ground for all their illegal alien children, then we have to school them and give them free medical care.

I for one, am sick and tired of these ILLEGAL ALIENS snubbing their nose at our immigration laws and the many other laws of this Country. If our Federal Government can not ENFORCE our immigration laws, and get these ILLEGAL ALIENS out of this Country, then let the States do it! One way or another, an end has to come to this illegal immigration, and not with AMNESTY! Amnesty will only encourage more ILLEGAL ALIENS to invade our Country and reward those who broke our laws and raped the American taxpayer in many ways...depressing our wages, taking our jobs, overwhelming our schools with their ILLEGAL ALIEN children, driving without a license or car insurance, all the crime from stolen identities to rape, drugs and everything else.

It's time for ZERO TOLERENCE with these ILLEGAL ALIENS. It's time for them get out of this Country and back in their own Country where they belong. When we get rid of the ILLEGAL ALIENS, we will get rid of all the problems that go with them. THAT IS A FACT!

California, for the love of God, WAKE UP! Get the illegal aliens out of California and take your State back!

I totally agree with Ali.

Furthermore, why is CA only NOW considering the (un)feasibility of allowing illegal aliens in-state tuition, grants and loans? Just because we are in an economic crisis? THE LAW IS THE LAW. Illegal aliens should never be allowed in-state tuition, grants, loans, or even ENTRY into a US college/university, unless they apply as foreign students -- visa and all.

I don't live in CA anymore, PRECISELY because I saw it turn into another country in just 20 years. I have never regretted the move. Now, as I look at CA from another state, I feel pity and sadness for Americans who live there but can't move due to finances. All for what? PC? California Democrats' dream of "socialism for votes?" Gimme a break. The CA Assembly (especially One-Bill Gil) and many mayors (Villaraigosa and Newsom) are to blame for the sorry mess CA is today. Broke, overpopulated, and hated by the rest of the country.

Great article, btw. Keep the fire going!

"Until the federal government clearly defines its stance on illegal immigration, the state of California should hold off on any decisions regarding the status of illegal immigrants. "
---------
Duh. The federal government already "clearly defines its stance on illegal immigration". It's illegal and those here illegally are deportable. Furthermore, federal law already prohibits a State from providing education benefits to illegal aliens UNLESS IT ALSO PROVIDES THEM TO AMERICAN CITIZENS FROM ANY STATE REGARDLESS OF RESIDENCE. This latter provision of federal law is currently being decided before the California Supreme Court and if upheld, the State could find itself in the position of having to compensate out-of-state American students who were charged higher tuition while illegal aliens got the in-state rate.
