What happens to a lawyer who jumps out of a plane at 35,000 feet without a parachute?
Who cares?
That’s how much we love professionals in America.
Although contempt for lawyers may be entirely fair, it seems like other professionals just don’t have the same esteem they used to. Beyond lawyer jokes, stories of corporate accountant creativity, police corruption, sham scientific discoveries and medical malpractice are almost yawn-inducing now.
Did I mention I’m excited to graduate?
Who wouldn’t be excited for an opportunity to join Dr. Hwang Woo-Suk?
The South Korean biomedical scientist was heralded as a pioneer in stem-cell research after announcing that, through cloning, he had created human embryonic stem cells.
His findings were later found to be based on fabricated data.
But why bother with all that research when you can be a real doctor, right?
Dr. Richard Lynn Frazier, a practicing surgeon in California, ran into a bit of trouble when he successfully executed an above-the-knee amputation on Gary Rushford.
The problem was that Rushford only needed a blood-thinning medication to clear the clot.
At least no one died
