Drama Stage 2 Will Produce Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest’ in January

‘We are such stuff as dreams are made on, and our little life is rounded with sleep’ will come to life on Jan. 25 in Winifred Smith Hall during this year’s Winter 2007 Production of William Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest.’

Directed by Brian Sivesind, the play centers on the attempts of the Duke of Milan and his daughter to find redemption and love among friends and old enemies while stranded on an island possessed by flying spirits and philosophical savages.

Madrigal Dinner Brings King Henry VIII to Claire Trevor

The 26th annual Madrigal dinner, which each year reenacts a unique and interesting event in the life of King Henry VIII, will this year recreate the meeting of Henry VIII and Francis I on the Field of Cloth of Gold in 1520. The meeting between these two leaders resulted in large ceremony that brought together festivity, feasting and politics in a spectacle of Spanish, English and French music.
