Riding a three-game winning streak that included an upset road victory over No. 19 Cal Poly Pomona, the UC Irvine women’s volleyball team looked to continue their improved play as they took on the visiting Long Beach State 49ers at Crawford Court Saturday night. Although their recent improved play gave the Anteater faithful hope that UCI would be able to pull off the big win against the favored 49ers, UCI was not able to keep up and was swept in three games, 30-27, 30-25, 30-10.
The game had more than just Big West conference implications
