Lakers’ Failure to Complete the Jason Kidd Trade Will Cost Them Dearly
Bhavik Patel | Feb 26, 2007 | Comments 2
The Los Angeles Lakers blew their best chance of winning a potential championship during the Kobe Bryant era when it failed to include young center Andrew Bynum in a trade for New Jersey Nets point guard Jason Kidd.
The Nets had been reportedly looking to trade the eight-time All-Star after a disappointing 26-30 record.
The Lakers tried to include different combinations of Jordan Farmer, Brian Cook, Kwamie Brown and first-round draft picks to lure the Nets in making a deal, but by the end of the NBA trade deadline no major deal had been struck.
What makes the Lakers’ decision so incompetent is the fact that they are acting like a team building for the future while they have arguably the best player in the NBA

So what happened Patel? You still have a job?
Good thing the Lakers did not trade for Jason Kidd. We got Gasol for K. Brown instead!!! We also got Ariza for B. Cook!! I don’t think the lakers are being incompetent. More like patient.
