Just a Little More South of the Border for Spring Break

Spring break is right around the corner, and college students everywhere want to get as far away from school as they can. The problem is, most of us are also more or less broke. This raises the serious question of how to get out of Dodge without going into debt.
While geographically not that far from Irvine, Mexico is still another country, and it is my suggestion for the budding undergrad traveler.
After you successfully dodge the onrush of cars from every direction immediately after crossing the border, I recommend following the signs that say either ‘Scenic Route’ or ‘Coastal Highway’ (they alternate but are talking about the same road) until you’re just past Rosarito.
Skip the usual spots where most 18-to-20-year-olds waste their trip on getting trashed
