I think that The Feeling do not lack originality at all! There songs may sound a little similar at some times to other bands, but the emotions and lyrics often show that these boys can write their own, good, unique song. Mostly, you have expressed in your comment, that The Feeling are quite like lots of different bands and genres but what you fail to realise is that it is this mix that creates the whole new feeling in their songs. They are creating their own sound by taking inspiration from many different sources. Unfortunately, I completely disagree. I think that The Feeling do not lack originality at all!
