In a Jan. 21 post, presidential candidate John Edwards’s campaign blogger, Amanda Marcotte, ‘spoke out’ about the Duke rape case for the entire world (or at least the entire key voting demographic of young whippersnappers with ‘Pentootium’ processors) to hear.
Last March, a woman hired to dance at a party for the Duke University lacrosse team accused a few of the players of rape. Then the woman contradicted herself on several key statements (for example, the number of attackers), District Attorney Mike Nifong was charged with various ethics violations, and the case was dropped.
That’s when Marcotte posted the following answer to due process of law on her blog, Pandagon: ‘I’ve been sort of casually listening to CNN blaring throughout the waiting area and good-fucking-god is that channel pure evil. For a while, I had to listen to how the poor dear lacrosse players at Duke are being persecuted just because they held someone down and fucked her against her will
