Pounding the Pavement: Making Your Post-Collegiate Job Search a Success

Like many graduating seniors, I’ve been ‘takin” my job search ‘to the streets.’ Weeks of scouring employment ads online and attending interviews has given me a certain insight into how the process works. Although I’ve yet to secure my dream job, maybe sharing my experiences can help you find yours.
First of all, when it comes to your resume, don’t be afraid to play up your strengths and downplay your weaknesses. Did you spend your last job mindlessly entering data into a spreadsheet? Congratulations, you are a ‘document specialist.’ Do they need someone who knows SQL, whatever that is? Hey, if you don’t know, they probably don’t either. Employers just put that sort of thing in there to look cool
