Greeks Clean Up Newport Beach

The UC Irvine Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Association hosted an all-day cleanup along the coast of Newport Beach this past weekend.
The event, which was organized in association with the Surfrider Foundation, a non-profit environmental organization, lasted from Saturday at 10 a.m. to Sunday at 12 noon.
In order to cover as much of the beach as possible, three stations were set up: one at the pier, one on 32nd Street and one on 46th Street.
Kyle Dineen, vice president of Programming for IFC, was one of the primary organizers of the event. He explained why Newport Beach was chosen as the site of the clean-up.
