UC Expands Ethnic Categories

The University of California system will change the ethnic categories that students can choose on their undergraduate applications beginning in 2008, in order to accommodate the Asian and Pacific Islander populations that have a notable presence on such campuses as Irvine and Berkeley.
According to a Nov. 16 press release, the undergraduate application will increase the number of Asian and Pacific Islander ethnic categories to 23
