Less than a year ago, the men’s volleyball squad earned the program its first-ever National Championship under Head Coach John Speraw, and with the help of some top-notch seniors. The prestige has earned Speraw a trip to coach Team USA (only until UCI’s conference schedule begins) and many of the star seniors have advanced into professional leagues. To give us the low-down on everything relating to men’s volleyball, the New University caught up with junior outside hitter Taylor Wilson.
New University: Do you guys feel any pressure considering the success you had a year ago?
Taylor Wilson: Yes. Obviously, we did a great job last year and achieved our main goal. We did lose a lot of leaders on the court, so there’s definitely a little lack of leadership right now. Some of the older guys are going to need to pick it up
