‘Gears of War’ Series Explores Iraq War and U.S. Imperialism
Following half a quarter of planning, the UC Irvine Worker-Student Alliance, Muslim Student Union, Students for Peace and Justice and Amnesty International unveiled a series of events entitled “Gears of War” in response to the fifth anniversary of the U.S.-led war in Iraq.
U.C. Likely to Face Budget Cut
Keeping in line with the fad of slimming down after the New Year, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger announced on Jan. 10 that he plans to trim the budget for all state universities, including the University of California, by 10 percent for the 2008-09 school year.
