This was in response to another article titled "crazy christians".

My intention was to honor Christianity, but not the campus visitors, as the previous article did not seem to make a distinction, if not just through the title.

I agree with you, in that I really didn't like the way students were treating the visitors, but I also didn't like the approach of those visiting because they were very condescending; and somehow the students, through their rudeness, were egging them on.

Not anywhere in this article did I say Christianity was not eventually very well received in Europe; all I said was that many early Christians were viewed as heretics; emphasis on early.

I apologize for the etruscans comment; blame UCI editing for that. Also, UCI is not a liberal arts school.

"Though we may enjoy humiliating the “crazy Christians,”" -- is this how modern liberal arts schools keep themselves entertained? Who indeed are the crazy ones?

"UCI has a tradition of hosting a range of opinions, as well as safeguarding freedom of religious and academic thought." Perhaps UCI should incorporate a clause that safeguards against "dry-humping" as well.

And now, a history lesson on Western History, Omar- Christians were very well received by the Romans- it became the state religion within 300 years and the only living vestige of the culture today is maintained by the Vatican- Nero notwithstanding. The Byzantines were of a CHRISTIAN EMPIRE, so no, they weren't dry humping the "crazy Christians" either. The Etruscans were completely wiped out with the founding of the Romans, hundreds of years before the birth of the Christ. Who by the way, was not a martyr- you can't be a "witness" (Greek source) to a faith that doesn't yet exist.

I'd suggest a better solution to the woes of the godless masses of UCI: "Face a book" and stop persecuting people to don't unbelieve as you do.
