I am a college student and have completed many research papers on PTSD. I am shocked at the lack of affordable treatment available to our soldiers returning home from combat. They risk their lives to give us and our children a future. However, as an American I have to say that we are blinded by what our soldiers see on the battlefield. We live in an unrealistic world. We only have our freedom due to these men who have risked it all to make the United States what it is today. They have earned the ulitimate respect, yet don't receive half of what is due to them. Myself and one of my class mates are in the process of starting an orgainzation at our school called "Operation Freedom". We already send care packages to local soldiers. This is a project that I take a lot of pride in! If we all took the time to do such a small gesture, what a difference it would make to our soldiers.

Nice post. I am posting a link back to this on my Digg, Mixx, Reddit, Stumbleupon, Twitter and Facebook right away. I feel the internet needs more health related helpful writers like yourself. Keep up the good work.

IMHOTEP (Wisdom to You!),

I am a 31 year old US Marine Infantry Veteran. I am writing to inform you that I have posted a link to your article on my blog site "Vigilant & Vigorous Verification Validating the Vindication of Veterans from Vicious Vilification":

Thank you for your concern on these most exigent of issues facing this nation and the world. I invite you to regularly visit my site for updates on Veterans mental health issues highlighted in the news (or better yet, subscribe via RSS feed: http://veight.wordpress.com/feed/). Also, I strongly encourage you to view the letter I composed and mailed to 25 or so senior military officials highlighting my causes of concern entitled "Our Brave Warriors Deserve Much More!":

Open dialogue and collaboration is welcome in reference to any related Veteran issues. Once again, I truly appreciate your awareness and look forward to hearing from you.
