B: It's you who hasn't done any research. You are oblivious to the fact that this is THE BIGGEST concert promoter and BIGGEST ticket seller, worldwide. You think they got that way by not advertising their shows?
Turn on a TV, listen to the radio or drive down any freeway in the US and damned if you don't get buried under the fluff headed at you.
Ticket prices are out of control because no one can stand in the way of the behemoth. To make matters worse, if tickets don't sell, they start to make deals on tickets. Recently at a Live Nation event, we were offered better seats closer to the stage. These tickets costed more, face value. On principal, the better seats were refused. I could only imagine how angry I would be knowing someone paid for lawn seats was now next to me when I paid double the price.

You focus on the advertising about how they already "cram it down our throat" but honestly you don't understand the situation. It is the exact opposite. The companies do such a non existent job of advertising it is rediculous. Still, half of the concert/sports world doesn't know that Ticketmaster is the place to even buy primary market tickets. Half of the fans don't even know one of their favorite is coming to town until the week of or the week after the show is. At that is just how it is. It is really amazing the lack of advertising for these companies. Companies like Stubhub and Ticketsnow advertise WAY MORE than Ticketmaster or Live Nation. I really believe you are not informed.
