Is the Anteater Weekly obligated to provide a public platform for every group on campus? I legitimately do not know the answer to that question and am interested in knowing the answer. If they are not obligated, not publishing an event the MSU puts on is not a violation of free speech.

Members of the MSU poison meaningful dialogue on the campus. Members screamed and shouted at the Ambassador of Israel when he spoke on campus. This was a clear violation of people’s right to communicate with each other. Meaningful dialogue could have occurred during the question and answer period. My understanding is that those who behaved civilly were denied the opportunity to ask questions and hear Oren's response. Due to the repeated disruptions the question and answer period was cancelled.

If the MSU publicly stated that the group supports Jewish people's right to self-determination and recognizes Israel is the homeland for the Jewish people and believe a Palestinian state should be created on the West Bank and Gaza so the Palestinian people could also have the right of self-determination and their own homeland, meaningful dialogue could occur. The grievances that the MSU has against Israel would probably hold more weight and have more legitimacy to many.

As it stands now with the rhetoric MSU members spout and the speakers the MSU invite to speak on campus, many question the MSU position on the existence of the Jewish state of Israel. Many question if the MSU supports peaceful co-existence of a Palestinian state with Israel as its neighbor.

From the actions of MSU members, many may reasonably conclude that the group believes Israel should be wiped off the map. Therefore, I do not follow how students sending student groups the email above violates the MSU right of free speech.

Alomar, my friend, you and your smattering of would-be terrorists only got what was coming to you.

When you stop advocating the destruction of an entire state and people (and calling it criticism- you must not understand the English language very well), when you stop disrespecting another nation's flag like politically opinionated kindergartners, and when your club stops using such thuggish tactics to intimidate cameramen and speakers alone in the Soc Sci parking structure.... then you can whine about how your freedom of speech is being impinged.

Cheers.
