Confessions of a Clerk
Once upon a time, a lonely blue shopping cart was left abandoned hundreds of feet away from its home and it was my job to retrieve it. This is the tale of my short-lived career as an Albertson’s courtesy clerk where I learned how to become an expert at dodging fast cars in a poorly designed parking lot.
UCI Dining Geared for Growth
College campuses are filled with hungry students craving delicious, affordable food. Luckily, UCI Hospitality and Dining Services are more than ready to meet that need. While most students were away during the summer, several important dining changes took place on campus. The most obvious is the addition of Panda Express, Jamba Juice and Wahoo’s Fish Taco in the Student Center. Wahoo’s is still under construction with a grand opening on Oct. 12.

In the heart of Anaheim, next door to Disney’s California Adventure and Disneyland, the inaugural D23 Expo opened its doors to adoring Disney fans. Early this month, this four-day spectacular featured exclusive presentations from Disney visionaries, sneak peeks at unreleased movies and ABC television shows, first glimpses of changes coming to Disney parks around the world, and so much more.
Toronto Dreams: Iranian Artists Aim to Debut their Art at Film Festival
When I found out about a Persian film festival in Toronto dedicated to young filmmakers exclusively from Iran, I immediately packed my bags and bought tickets with money from my savings. My aspirations for making films in Iran after college drew me to this festival, especially given that the judges were some prominent filmmakers flying in from Tehran. However, hours before my flight was set to depart, I was informed by Shahrokh Bahrololumi, the organizer of the festival, that the festival was postponed.

And by “all,” I mean the uncommon college student who takes the time to cook his or her own healthy meals. But in the collegiate culinary world, the diet of the average college student consists of Top Ramen, Diet Coke and fast food.
UCI Law School Debuts with High Aspirations
With a 4% acceptance rate in its first year, UCI Law has been the most selective law school in the country. Of the 2,741 applicants for the inaugural class, only 110 students were accepted. High-caliber students and selectivity demonstrate that UCI Law school is well on its way to achieve its goal.
