Natalie, when I was a Republican (I am now 79) I was so impressed with the principals of honor and integrity. This was more important than winning elections. Then after Goldwater, we began to see the type of political activity that we thought belonged to the Democrats (Chicago and New York). We ended with the political moves of Karl Rove. So I left the Republican party, but, I did not join any other political party.
I can not be sure, but it seemed to me that the party ended with those mostly with out much intellect. Sen. McCain (I really admired him) was not too bright nor was Gov. Palin.
Now, I watch for those that can bring honor and integrity back to the Republican party and can think for the good of the country not just the party.
