What I don’t get though, is why this is anyone’s fault but Islam’s.

Islam and anarchy, Islam and dysfunction, Islam and dictators seem to go together like air and breathing.

Libya, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Algeria, Sudan , Iran, Somalia, Pakistan, you name it “stan” and chances are you will find dictators, repression, and no rights for the people. You will find gays being hung, women being treated to a lower standard, violence between different Muslim factions (Hamas v Fatah, Sunni v Shia), fewer freedoms for non-Muslims be they Christian, Hindu, atheist or Jew.

Now some say this is America’s fault, or Israel’s fault, or colonialism’s fault, or internationalism’s fault, or the tooth fairy’s fault, but I don’t get the connection and am tired of all the irrational excuses. At some point it’s time to cut the finger pointing and to take ownership of one’s own life; of one’s own people’s lives. Islam doesn’t seem “man” enought to do this but lowers itself to pointing fingers instead.

Why is this a pandemic within Islam? Gosh. You don’t suppose it might have something to do, just a tiny bit to do with Islam? After all Mohammed was a brutal man who waged wars, killed and raped and enslaved. According to the Koran and Hadiths Moahmmed encouraged, preached and insisted his followers love the sword (sword a sign of brutish strength), use the sword to spread Islam to the four corners of the earth. Is it any wonder with a prophet like Mohammed, and the example he set, and the message he left that Islam is what it is. That Islam’s ceaseless political dysfunction is surprising to Obama and others is surprising to me.

So let’s quit blaming Obama, or Russia, or George Bush for Afghanistan’s barbaric, murderous dysfunction. You know, don’t you that in sixty years, and out of the ashes of the Holocaust Israel has created a vibrant country that contributes inordinately to its size to the sciences and all other areas to the world’s benefit. And Israel does this, of course, despite the never-ending pressures of neighboring states who support terrorist organizations determined to wipe Israel off the map.

Why is it Israel has been able to move beyond the excuses, its people’s history of being genocidal persecution, while Afghanistan, Sudan, Somalia, Pakistan, Iran among others are forever stuck in the medieval mud that goes hand in glove with Islam?
