I like Jimmy Fallon...he's getting better and better with each episode. And he brings out the best in his guests all the time, they always seem so happy and relaxed to be there.

I'm with Coco.

It's probably different because it's show business and there are much stricter demands, but it's like with coaches. They need time, at least a few years, to get their system and players in place. As with any transition, there's going to be some attrition at first. Look at the football programs at Alabama. They just won a national championship in the 3rd year of their coach Nick Saban (a heartless mercenary if you ask me). They were good last year, but in 2007 they struggled, even losing to Louisiana-Monroe. And no, I am not talking about LSU (that season's eventual national champions). Look at Michigan too. Rich Rodriguez has a good track record and is highly regarded by other coaches. His first 2 years at UM, however, have been disastrous. What happened? They lost a TON of players who were dissatisfied with the coaching change and basically had to start building the program from scratch. (The idea that Rodriguez had "Michigan talent" to work with is a total myth...there were some great players, but they were starting walk-ons for crying out loud.)

No matter what network it is, to expect Conan's show to be an instant success when has been changed dramatically is probably unrealistic.

Well said, and I couldn't agree more. NBC must know by now that if they don't change their minds about getting rid of Conan and let him keep The Tonight Show instead of giving it back to Leno, they'll make millions of viewers shun them that they can't afford to lose. But who are we kidding? NBC is so stupid and stubborn, they'll just keep on doing what they want to do, and it'll just end up hurting them.
