"The Office of the Dean of Students is aligned with students in sharing the frustration of our current fiscal challenges."

Oh good, so you agree that you should resign too? Your salary could be better used putting 10 students through college, room and board included.

'Free Speech' on this campus is a joke. Hell, the posters advertising the Monday, January 4th protest were taken down by UCI POLICE within a few hours of posting. Yet, they were posted in accordance with the UCI Poster policy. This so-called 'protection of free speech' feels more like fascism to me.

At UCI, silence is discourse, repression is freedom. Rameen, do you care to explain why posters with political content, posted in accordance with UCI policy, are frequently taken down overnight? If you post anything critical of the administration at 9pm, it'll be down by 7am the next morning. Maybe you could also explain why certain campus groups, especially frats, are allowed to play music outside of the "free speech hour", very loudly, without permits, while protesters of any stripe are not allowed to use bullhorns in the designated spot at the designated time, and why police have routinely threatened to ARREST students for using bullhorns? The "amplified sound" that protesters have used have hardly even reached the same dbm level as traffic on Campus. Please stop spreading the rumor that you value free speech when in fact every effort is made to silence dissenting voices on this campus.
