If a student cannot control himself/herself during a lecture because their hatred is so strong towards the ideas the person presents, the student should protest outside or stay home.

@First Amendment: The right to free speech ends when you are using said free speech to limit the free speech of somebody else. Free speech also only applies in a public forum, which Ambassador Oren’s speech was not. The disruptions by the students was limiting the free speech of Ambassador Oren during his own speech. If you don’t believe me that the students were in the wrong and the university police in the right for arresting the students, why don’t you talk to Law School Dean Erwin Chemerinsky. He’ll tell you the same thing I just said.

These students’ speech was protected by the First Amendment. The ambassador has the right to free speech, as did these students.

The law states that freedom of speech is only allowed (closest word to being correct, I guess) in a public forum, which includes sidewalks, Ring Road, and the flag poles. Dean Chemerinsky expresses this in a much better fashion. Inside a room in the Student Center during somebody’s speech is NOT a public forum, and therefore, the eleven students were breaking the law. Since they willingly did this, it could be said that these 11 students are people who “clearly [do] not respect the law.”
