I wonder whether a Marxist Communist regime in America would even allow the non-party version of another political dream to be published/released/made? Correct me if I'm wrong, but Capitalism, or Liberal Democracy as a whole, thrived in the 80's (don't mistake or equate "thrive" to mean that it was good or fair or even necessarily bad). The imagination for an alternative government is not what made cinema great then, as opposed to now.
