Sitara and Vikram Nayudu are the first sibling pair of ASUCI presidents in UCI history. This remarkable duo is only a year apart in age, and are the first and second Engineering majors to become ASUCI presidents, and they attribute their style of running office is influenced by the rationality and mindset of efficiency that comes from being engineers, to see a straight path from a visualized start and end (Sitara in Enviromental Engineering, and Vikram in Mechanical Engineering). Sitara, current President, did not know her brother was running until shortly before his campaign started, and says that they are both competitive, ambitious, athletes. Vikram, next year’s ASUCI president, has been the ASUCI Legislative Council Representative for Engineering since he was a freshman, and was the first elected Speaker Pro Temp of Leg Council, equivalent to Speaker of the House in Congress, and has also served in the Office of the President. The siblings attribute their success largely to their parents, who instilled within them the desire to do things that help other people. For them, the presidency is not a job nor career-related, but rather a breath of fresh air for them and a way for them to inspire everyone to love UCI and make change.
