Thank you for the comment! I'm glad you liked it and can relate. I've yet to meet someone in person with the same things, so it's good to know there are others out there, haha. :)

Hello, hello, hello
I am so glad that I stumbled upon this article. It was like reading about myself. I do the same thing with clothes and have to have exact numbers of everything.
It used to drive me nuts, but I've come to accept that it's a part of me that I shouldn't fight.
In all my time connecting with people with OCD, you are the first EVER to have my exact same symptoms.
PLUS, as what a relief to hear that you are NOT A HOARDER!!! I too am not a hoarder and keep my stuff down to a bare minimum. The main reason being that the less stuff I have, the less there is to organize.
It bothers me that hoarders are considered to have OCD, when it's persons like us who deserve the help instead
(I wrote an article about this on my website).

Anyway I couldn't help but weigh in here, and thank you for sharing, with such hinesty how you live your life. All my life I have tried to put it into words and failed (and I'm a writer, go figure), yet you have nutshelled it beautifully. Wish I'd known you 25 years ago!!!

Thanks for sharing your story, Zachary. I think being clean is wonderful, and there definitely is a difference between liking things to be clean and having OCD or OCPD. If you, or anyone else, is interested in learning more about OCD, I'd really recommend visiting the link below.
