Doctoral Program of Education to Celebrate First Year
One year ago, UC Irvine, Cal State Long Beach, Cal State Los Angeles, Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State Fullerton introduced a joint Doctoral of Education degree.
The joint degree program includes four areas of emphasis including leadership in urban education, higher education and community college, educational technology, community college and K-12.
The program will be celebrated on April 27 at the University Club with members from each respective university.
Student speakers will also be commenting on their experiences in the program.
CALPIRG Hosts Annual Hunger Cleanup Event
The UCI CALPIRG chapter hosted its annual Orange County Hunger Cleanup on April 24 at various shelters across Orange County.
Volunteer projects included building houses, making dinner for the homeless and removing trash from local waterways.
In addition to the volunteering, UCI students are working to raise $3,000 to fight hunger and homelessness locally, nationally and internationally.
Half of the funds raised will be donated to the Casa Teresa House which helps homeless mothers and children transcend into stable living while the rest will benefit CALPIRG’s national efforts.
