IMW Student Protesters Say Hearings Unfair
More than 12 students who allegedly prevented a soil sample from being taken from the Irvine Meadows West trailer park in March have been judged ‘guilty’ in a campus judicial hearing for violating campus policy and will have letters of Disciplinary Warning placed on their file.
Matthew Cardinale, a first-year graduate student who received one of these letters, said the hearings were unfair because allegations were not issued to students in writing prior to hearings, making it difficult to impossible for students to adequately defend themselves. Cardinale plans to protest the Disciplinary Warning placed on his record.
