Vice Presidential Debate Proves Edwards a Winner

Last Tuesday night’s debate between Vice President Dick Cheney and vice presidential candidate John Edwards marked the only occasion on which the two politicians will face off against one another in fielding a range of questions varying in topic. The topics covered were more inclusive than last week’s presidential debate: foreign policy, economy, trade, health care, education, to name a few. The difference came not in the questions, but in the answers from the participants.
Instead of Kerry rattling off premeditated, monotonous responses while Bush gazed helplessly into the distance, or the president stumbling and struggling to work out some sort of redundant answer, the debate between Cheney and Edwards appeared to be much smoother, with the participants seemingly speaking with-ease
