While national headlines told of video game fans being robbed, shot, stabbed, trampled and beaten by police while trying to get their hands on the extremely limited supply of 150,000 PlayStation 3 consoles in the United States, Nintendo delivered 1,000,000 units of their new system, Wii, with relatively little violence and a comparatively low level of media coverage.
One of these units found its way into my roommate’s hands and into our apartment, where it has rarely been idle for more than a few hours since its arrival last Sunday morning.
Of the 21 games that were released for Wii on Day One, I’ve played only a handful, but based on my own experiences and the reactions of friends who have come over to play, I am prepared to announce my choices for the top three Wii launch titles.
#3: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
My actual hands-on time with this game has been minimal, but I got a chance to try out the controls and I have watched my roommate play through a couple of the dungeons. Neither of us has beaten the game
