Women’s B-Ball Shucked by Cornhuskers
UC Irvine 66
It was a little ironic that ‘Black Friday’ was the best way to describe the UC Irvine women’s basketball team’s day following their 80-66 loss against the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Friday, Nov. 24 at the Bren Events Center.
Hosting the Cornhuskers from the Big 12 Conference, the Anteaters trailed early in the game and were unable to rally back from their 35-29 halftime deficit.
Freshman forward Naomi Halman had a career game for the Anteaters, scoring a team-high 16 points off the bench and adding seven rebounds. Halman, who has quickly established herself as one of the team’s better post players, also shot 7-10 from the field.
The Anteaters also received 12 points from sophomore forward Kelly Cochran
