Conservatives Create Encyclopedia of ‘Truthiness’

When comedian Stephen Colbert famously coined the word ‘truthiness’ on the inaugural episode of his show ‘The Colbert Report’ to refer to the habit of believing what you know to be true in your gut, without regard to rational facts and logic, his intent was clearly satirical and ridiculous. Surely there aren’t really people who take pride in dismissing empirical data and reason whenever it might lead them to beliefs they find displeasing. Surely there aren’t really conservatives in America who willfully and deliberately shape their beliefs according to what they most want to be true, not what the facts imply
