My daughter, Alexandra Bolt, was beaten in the back of a bus on the UC Irvine campus almost to unconsciousness on Jan. 25, 2007. She was coming back from her first social event as a freshman.
The UCI student newspaper report in June 2007 indicated charges were to be dropped against [the assailant] Christopher Gabbard and criminal charges had been filed against my daughter by the District Attorney’s office. My daughter was never charged with any crime whatsoever. This could easily have been determined by contacting the DA or merely looking on their
Web site. Instead, the reporter, Maya Debbaneh, got her information that my daughter was charged from one and only one source
