Soccer Alum Brad Evans Called Up to National Team
Former Anteater All-American Brad Evans is one of 30 players called up by U.S. Men’s National Team head coach Bob Bradley to participate in training camp at the Home Depot Center in Carson. Evans, who earned his first career cap with the national team at the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup, began training Monday, January 4. The U.S. will face Honduras January 23 at the Home Depot Center in a friendly contest.
The annual training camp is for players in their off-season, mostly players who play domestically with 25 of the 30 players called up playing in the United States.
Patrick Sanders Signs With Netherlands Team
UCI basketball Alum Patrick Sanders was signed by Dutch Champion ABC Amsterdam to a one-year deal. Amsterdam is filling a vacant small forward/ power forward spot with Sanders, who will make his debut in Europe.
Sanders spent last season in the NBA Development League, playing for the Iowa Energy. There he averaged 13.9 points and 3.6 rebounds. He had several prolific games, breaking the Energy single game scoring record with 43 points in a double overtime game against the Dakota Wizards.
