Volleyball Knocks Off No. 5 UCLA 3-1 at Pauley Pavillion
The topsy-turvey world of collegiate volleyball reared its friendly head once again as UCI knocked off UCLA 3-1 (32-34, 30-23, 30-28, 30-28) in a closely fought battle.
After a tough first set, UCI (10-10, 6-9 MPSF) blew out UCLA (10-9, 8-7 MPSF) in the second set before gritting its teeth and holding on for 30-28 victories in the 3rd and 4th sets.
Junior Jordan DuFault led UCI with 20 kills and a .457 hitting percentage, while senior Cole Reinholm added 19 kills and a .405 hitting percentage.
Libero Kenny Webster stepped up as well, recording a career-high 18 digs.
UCI next takes on Penn State at the Bren on March 10.
