Sports in brief

While other students were enjoying their time off on Spring Break, the UCI men’s tennis team spent the last part of their break in freezing Boise, Idaho. UCI first played on March 25 and lost 6-1 to No. 52 Boise State. Entering the week ranked 47th in the nation, UCI then took part in the Boise State Spring Break Classic. They lost their first matchup of the day against Cornell, 5-1, before falling to Ball State 5-2 on the same day.

The recent downturn in success is disconcerting.

UCI had defeated Penn, UC Riverside, and USC Upstate, all by the score of 5-2, and also took down Marquette 4-3.
