Women’s Soccer Stays Undefeated in Big West

The Lady Anteaters defeated heated rival Long Beach State 1-0 on Thursday, Oct. 21. Late in the first half, senior Tanya Taylor found an open Coco Goodson who did the rest, putting the ball past the 49ers’ keeper Emily Kingsborough.

On Sunday night, the Anteaters traveled to Riverside to take on the Highlanders. Goodson once again scored the lone goal in the contest, giving the Aneaters another 1-0 victory. UCI improves to a flawless 7-0-0 in Big West play.

Struggles Continue for Women’s Volleyball

Over the weekend, women’s volleyball traveled to Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo but came back empty handed. On Oct. 22, the Anteaters fell to the Gauchos of UCSB in four sets: 20-25, 13-25, 25-23 and 20-25. On Oct. 23, the Anteaters took their game to Cal Poly but fell once again in three sets: 21-25, 21-25 and 16-25.

UCI’s Four-Game Winning Streak Comes to an End

On Oct. 23, No. 3 UCLA defeated the fifth ranked Anteaters, 11-8. Griffin Lerman led the Anteaters with three goals, while Doug Lindsey added another two. The loss marks the second in the last 10 games for the ’Eaters, with both losses coming from the Bruins.
