Men’s Volleyball Loses Two in Provo
On Jan. 28 and 29, the men’s volleyball team traveled to Provo, Utah for back-to-back games against the BYU Cougars. In the first game the Anteaters fell to the Cougars in three sets: 22-25, 15-25 and 17-25.

On Jan. 29, the Anteaters would once again play the Cougars, and once again BYU swept UCI in three sets: 17-25, 22-25 and 21-25.

Anteaters Score Record 22 Goals
After falling to Michigan in the Santa Barbara Tournament, the women’s water polo team responded with a record-breaking performance. UC Irvine blasted Vanguard University 22-1. The 22 goals against Vanguard were the most goals scored by an UCI women’s water polo team. Junior Amy Riddering headed the offensive explosion as she led the team with four goals. Freshman Danielle Warde added another three.

Women’s Tennis Drops Home Opener
On Jan. 29, the women’s tennis team lost its home opener to the Aztecs of San Diego State, 2-5. SDSU was able to take the doubles point by taking two out of the three doubles matches. Sophomore Kristina Smith and freshman Brooke Schweyer recorded two points for the Anteaters as they won their singles matches.
