Tennis Teams Compete
On Feb. 25th at the Loyola Marymount University Tennis Center, the women’s tennis team came back from a doubles loss to Loyola Marymount University by sweeping through singles for a 6-1 victory. UCI is now 5-4. Senior Kristina Smith and freshman Kat Facey won their singles matches in straight sets while four other Anteaters took their matches to three sets.
Men’s tennis struggled in doubles that same day. UCI fell to the University of Washington, 5-2. The loss brought UCI down to 1-7.
’Eaters Crushed by Titans
UC Irvine women’s basketball team lost 58-44 at Cal State Fullerton on Feb. 25. At 12-16, UCI is 8-7 in the Big West.
The Titans limited Irvine’s top two scorers, senior Kassandra McCalister and sophomore Jacquelyn Marshall, to four points combined. CSUF led 39-19 by the end of the first half and Irvine never threatened throughout the rest of the game.
Water Polo Finishes Seventh at Invitational
UCI women’s water polo team pushed for seventh place at the Irvine Invitational after earning an 11-5 victory over Stanford on Sunday. The Anteaters are now 12-3.
